Stoked on this. It's lightweight, looks far less dorky than most bucket hats or helmets, and gives good protection. Perfect for most days at most longboard or intermediate-to-beginner spots. Because of the nature of bucket hats themselves, peripheral vision can be a tiny bit affected. Not a major issue, on most days at most spots but I paddled out on a bigger day with mine and think I'll get a Gath or something for those days. But, for the vast majority of sessions, the SMILE will be the call.
N.B. My enormous cabeza measured right at the high end of the Regular fit, so I got the XL, and am glad I did. Fits well.

After searching for a non-ugly helmet to protect my brain while out in the ocean, I finally found one!!

This was for my 10 year old "pre-tween" daughter. It not only protects her sweet little head, but looks cool while doing it. Which is a bonus because most of the helmets out there, look like helmets - which does not fit the vibe these little groms are after! Thanks again for a great product with great style.

This product is such a Game changer. I bought it as I had a scary situation in the water and have been traumatized ever since. Afterwards, I always had this slight anxiety in my head when paddling out. Since I got the Reef Ranger I became much more confident again and eventually set off this surf anxiety completely! If anyone can relate, this is your product!

Stylish, helmet part is hidden nicely. Runs a bit on the small size- would be nice if adjustable. Not for heavy duty blows but I suspect good for objects one might otherwise run into or more straightforward surf injury events.

No more compromise between sun and impact protection. Great for kite surf and foiling, any water sport.

Wish they had the 3 sizes when I ordered. The S/M is snug but comfortable after a few uses. I might have got a size larger.

Happy - now I can try new stuff without second guessing if I should go in to get my helmet.

I made a mistake with my ordering address and they were super helpful! Also like the helmet it keeps the sun out of my eyes!
