Kids → approx. 50-53 cm

To ensure your surf hat remains in prime condition, follow these simple care steps:

Rinse After Use: Wash away saltwater and sand with fresh water after each surf session.
Dry in Shade: Avoid direct sunlight; let it dry in a shaded area to preserve color and material integrity.
Loosen Strap: Relieve tension by loosening the adjustable strap after use.
Hand Wash Periodically: Every few months, gently hand wash with mild detergent in lukewarm water to remove accumulated residues. Carefully detach any removable parts before washing. Rinse thoroughly and air dry in the shade.

Designed with poor anatomic knowledge

Overall product consists of two parts:
1. hat(good)
2. helmet(bad)
1. Hat looks good, stylish. It has wide borders which help avoid sun burn for face and neck. Also it has good develop attaches, so hat easily survives waves, don’t get washed even in impact zone and during duck dives. Another good thing that it dries fast.
2. For some reason helmet part is designed really bad, with poor anatomy knowledge. Helmet doesn’t cover whole head, so you should choose your favourite part ;(
The worst part about it is that by default developers attach it wrong side, so you have protected forehead(the strongest bone in human skull), and nothing saves your nape which is one the most valuable and vulnerable part of the head. So I always wear it opposite side.
Hopefully these mistakes will be fixed in the next version and people shouldn’t choose which part of the head they want to keep safe and have one solid developed helmet part which protects head fully.

Good sun protection too!

I’ve worn my smile helmet bucket hat a few times now and I love it! At first I was a bit embarrassed to wear it but after the first time I wanted to wear it every time. I like that it protects my eyes, face, and scalp from the Sun as well. I’m in Hawaii so the extra coverage helps!

After a while you forget you’re wearing it. It’s secure and comfy. The light purple looks exactly as pictured. I’d recommend it!

Best hat I have tired

I surf on the North Shore of O'ahu, Hawaii and have used other hats with head protection.
I tried this hat in some powerful waves. It stays on and is comfortable. It gives very good sun protection for the face and ears and I think the neck as well.
I find my peripheral vision is inhibited and also I have to lift my head a lot to be focused when paddling into a wave or when stroking to clear a set.
So I flip the front up which works but requires time and it's an extra thing to deal with in critical situations. I suggest a more rigid brim similar to the Indo hat made by Da Kine. I realize it's a trade off between good sun protection for the face and adequate visual field considerations.
The hat is very well made and worth the money. I am still going to wear it when surfing. The head liner is good and is well designed.
I think it looks good and have mentioned it to my friends and I would recommend it given this one criticism.
While not perfect it is by the best hat I've used so far. Worth the money.
